Lyman Orchards In Middlefield Connecticut is the place to go for fresh fruit, and fresh baked pies. Lyman Orchards are located at the intersection of RT 146 and Rt 157 in Middlefield, Connecticut which makes Lyman Orchards very easy to get to from any where in the State.
Lyman Orchards In Middlefield Connecticut was first established in 1741, and is the twelfth oldest family-owned business in the United States. Lyman Orchards consists of 1,100 acres on which they grow their own apples, peaches, pears, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and pumpkins. At Lyman Orchards you can either pick your own fruit from June through October, or visit their store where you can purchase fruit year round.
Lyman Orchards In Middlefield Connecticut has been a popular place for the whole family for many generations, not only because of its delicious fresh fruits, but also for its fantastic fresh baked pies, and baked goods. Their "high top" apple pie, is as they say to die for. In fact in my opinion all their pies are to die for. My two son's favorites at Lyman's however, is their Apple Cider Donuts, and I have to admit they are among my favorites as well.
Lyman Orchards In Middlefield Connecticut is also a great place to go for lunch. They have a deli and prepared food section that offers a great selection of food, which can be enjoyed in the store, outside on the deck, or sit out on their beautiful grounds and picnic.
Fresh fruit, pies, and great food are not the only things that Lyman Orchards In Middlefield Connecticut has to offer, it is also a great place to go for fun family activities. They have a Sunflower Maze and Corn Maze in the Fall. The family can also enjoy a ride on a horse drawn wagon, or ride a pony. For those that like activities that are a little more physical, you can take in a round of golf at on of their two championship 18 hole courses that were designed by Robert Trent , Sr., and Gary Player. Or you can try a different type of golf, "frisbee golf".
If I had to describe Lyman Orchards In Middlefield Connecticut in one sentence it would be "a great place for fresh food and fun". If you are going to be in central Connecticut, Lyman Orchards In Middlefield Connecticut is a must stop.

Talk about a blog that expands the waistline. Good thing the courses are so close, eat a slice hit a slice?
Ed, slice is what I do when I play golf ....... LOL
George,
It's great fun to go to these orchards and pick your own fruit. Blueberries are my favorite, including pies made with them and cold blueberry soup.
George, I love apple picking time and what is more American then Apple pie. Very nice blog. I will be looking for your favorite Breakfast place blog!
I feel like we're on a food fest...... yum!
George We lived near a similar place in Sherborn, MA years ago - it was really cool - great post, Karen
George as you well know I love places like this and this one has staying power, it has been around a long time. I am sure the owners will be thrilled with your presentation, you made it so inviting.
Esko I have never heard of blueberry soup, but it sounds interesting.
Debbie, yes apple pie is among my favorites, and I should be writing the blog on my favorite breakfast place tomorrow.
Karen this place is also near me, so it is very convenient to go there for the fresh fruit.
Jennifer I agree 268 years is a lot of staying power :) :)
George,
I love orchards!
In her later years so did my horse. When the winds blew in from the neighbors apples she let her self lose and go visit. She'd eat her fill then go to their barn for water and to check in. They'd set out seconds for her and call Brenda or me to come get her.
Orchards with their neatly trimmed trees and straight lines were always a great place to go riding. Apple blossoms in the spring, apples all summer and colors in the fall, light snow on the lee side in the winter, yup I love orchards.
Thank for the memories!
Bill
Dill this one also has beautiful views where they grow the apples, because it sits pretty high up on a hill.
George, Lyman Orchards sounds like a wonderful place. I've never been to a corn maze but maybe one of these days I'll go play in one. The sunflower maze sounds fun too.
Jen, when you go in the maze you have to answer a question on one of several topic in order to know where to turn. If you answer it right you get to the next question and so on until you get out. If you answer the questions wrong, you could be in there for a while :) :)
