I have not blogged much lately, but a good friend, Sally Cheeseman, asked me to write a blog for her Positive Attitude for the Weary Soul Croup Contest, so I am. Sally has been a great online friend for a long time, and when she asks, which is not often, I try to comply.
Sally's topic for this contest is "Holiday Acceptance". I thought about the topi
c over the weekend, and quickly came to the conclusion that in order to accept, there needs to be giving involved first. So this is a very appropriate topic for the Holidays, since this is the season for giving.
I can't think of a better gift to receive for the Holidays then the gift of accepting self, and acceptance of self begins with having the right attitude from within. Everyone needs an attitude of self acceptance especially if they are involved in sales like most of us. If you are in sales and you don't have it then, you better get some real quick or find another line of work. Now don’t get me wrong I am not telling you to “Have an Attitude”, I am telling you to “Have Attitude”. The two might sound the same but they are very different.
You cannot be positive, and confident about yourself unless you have first accepted yourself for whom and what you are, and in order to do this it takes attitude. Sales People in particularly need "Attitude". How can we expect others to trust and accept us unless we have first accepted ourselves? Who would want to work with a Realtor or Loan Officer that is negative, or doubtful of what they are doing? I have never met a successful person who did not have “Attitude”.
A person who has accepted themselves and is comfortable with who they are, will project that in their attitude, and will in turn receive confident and trust from others in return because of it. They will not have to say a word, others will be able to see it in just the way they act and present themselves. It will come through loud and clear as if they were shouting it out loud, but without saying a word. This type of attitude that comes from acceptance of self, is not arrogant. It does not require boasting about yourself, because others will do the boasting for you.
So if you have not accepted yourself for who you are, then you need to give yourself that gift during this very special Holiday. Let the Holiday Acceptance begin today, so that you can acquire the positive attitude and confidence that you need for yourself, and everyone around you. This type of attitude is catchy, but it first needs to begin with you.
This gift of Holiday Acceptance is totally up to you, and within your control. It is your choice and no one Else's. So be generous to yourself, give yourself and abundance of Holiday Acceptance. You deserve it and everyone around you will be thankful that you did.
(The picture of of niece accepting the news member to the family, she had been the baby of the family up to that point).
